Complete Blood Count (CBC)
- Fast for 8–12 hours before the test. You may drink water only.
- Tell your doctor if you are taking any blood thinners or anticoagulants.
Bleeding Time
- No special preparation is needed
Clotting Time
- No special preparation is needed
Erythrocyte Sedimentation Rate (ESR)
- No special preparation is needed.
Malaria Parasite
- If you are taking any antimalarial medications, stop taking them 24 hours before the test.
Blood Microfilaria
- No special preparation is needed.
Skin Microfilaria
- No special preparation is needed.
CD4 Count
- If you are taking any antiretroviral medications, continue taking them as prescribed.

- Wear comfortable clothing that allows easy access to your veins.
